Story Update

After finishing Wormeo and Juliet, you can't help but stare at the pages in despair... you've saved Wormy from evil fishermen, put him on the right steps towards a college degree, and saved a dystopian planet. And in the finale, you crafted a beautiful conclusion to the saga, where Wormy defies all natural laws and undergoes metamorphosis just to be with his one true love.

But now you feel despondent. You've labored away for days writing these books, but you're no closer than you started to solving the real problem—how can I turn An back into a human?

You scour the internet and rifle again through every worm-related book in An's catalogue… you find nothing. You topple towards the ground, head in your hands, and start weeping. As you lay there crying, your eyes drift to a book tucked behind a nearby garbage can. "Turn Yourself Into a Worm For Dummies" the title reads.

"Of course!" you exclaim. "If I can't turn An back into a human... maybe I could just turn myself into a worm, that way I can express my true feelings!"

With trembling hands and tears still dripping from your face, you speed through the instruction manual, trying to take in as much information as possible. You rush around the house gathering all you need to undergo METAMETAMORPHOSIS. And then, it happens. You close your eyes and turn into a worm.

You open your eyes and try to move your fingers... but you don't have fingers any more... because you're a worm. Excitedly, you wriggle towards your partner. "An, I've missed you so much. I'm so sorry for not knowing how much I'd love you if you were a worm. I was misguided by logic and reason, but now I see how close-minded I was, and..."

"Who are you?" the mystery worm interrupts.

Uh oh. That didn't sound like An...

"Aren't you my girlfriend, An? We had an argument last night, you stormed off because I didn't know if I'd love you if you were a worm...” you say to the mystery worm.

"I..." the worm starts, but is quickly interrupted by the opening of a door. It's An!

The stranger worm quickly wriggles away.

"It's An?" you ask yourself. "I thought she became a worm... does this mean?" You stop mid thought. You faintly remember during your most recent date, An mentioned she was going to go see her parents for the weekend. "Idiot!" you think to yourself.

An walks to her desk and surveys the situation: she sees the open laptop, the four brand new Wormy novels, and then finally, you.

You think about how you must look. An earthworm staring up at her next to her mug, unmoving, seemingly sulking. Her eyes lock on you in recognition.

"Drew?" she incredulously says, looking at you. "Wait. It is you! Hold on one sec."

"I'm not going anywhere," you deadpan.

You watch as she crosses the room, looking with increasing exasperation through her bookstack. She looks behind the trash can for her copy of "Turn Yourself Into a Worm For Dummies" and rolls her eyes in exasperation. Slowly, she gathers the same materials you did and in a minute, you see her wriggle up to you.

"I would slap you if I had any arms right now," An says.

"Wait!" You exclaim. "I've been trying so hard to make this right! Here, read the books I wrote on your behalf!"

It takes an eternity to crawl over to the books, and even longer to read through them, but at the end of it An seems genuinely touched.

"You know me so well, Drew!" An says. "I didn't realize you paid this much attention."

"Of course I did!" You say. "You're the best wormfriend ever."

And you wriggle off into the sunset to have great adventures, all ten of your collective hearts full.
